DTP is the art of formatting a layout and localized materials to match every detail of the original file that is translated. This documentation can be in: InDesign, FrameMaker, QuickSilver (Interleaf), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Illustrator, CorelDraw, QuarkXPress, and more.

Content for translation may not always be available in a ready-to-edit format. Our Text extraction service will extract the text from non-editable or image based files, sensitive or highly specialised content, for example, legal documentation, medical files or technical manuals, may only be available as hard copy or scanned pages. We have the capability and expertise to deploy tools such as optical character recognition, combined with expert human editors to quickly convert source materials into editable files which can work further on by your translation teams. From scanned pages of typewritten text to handwriting, and even hand-drawn diagrams and tables, our expert Team will extract the necessary content and create an accurate yet editable match of the original item.

File Preparation

After many years of extensive experience and knowledge in the industry, we can ensure that we know how to prepare files for translation.

For translation to take place properly through required tools, the files need to be error free before putting them into the tools. Extra line breaks, spaces, and non-required lines, need to be removed to make files ready for translation. We recreate source files from PDFs or any other file formats to any format required by our Clients, a correct analysis and preparation of the files, keeping in sight required tools to be utilized for translation and the subsequent layout, can avoid many problems and consequently save time and unnecessary costs.
